Food I Am Loving These days

Just Like The Homemade Stuff

So I sat down to finally have my Bon Appetit Pepperoni & Pesto pizza, which I was really waiting impatiently to do. I love pizza and have always been fond of frozen pizza, but I have become picky over the years about the brands that I buy and like.  To my delight this pizza was full of wonderful surprises.

I though for a moment that it was going to be too big when I placed it into the toaster oven, but it actually fit in just fine and cooked to the perfect sized individual pan pizza.  I was also expecting one ingredient, like the pepperoni or the pesto to overwhelm the other ingredients, but I was amazed at how well all of the flavors and ingredients complimented each other and blended so well together.  There was a spicy-peppery undertone to each bite as I chewed, which surprised me as well, and all of the ingredients tasted so fresh. Halfway through my culinary experience, I was actually glad that I was alone in the house and that I didn’t have to share. Is that bad of me?  Oh well!  This was totally filling for one person mostly due to the thin crust and would be a nice shared snack for two people.  The crust baked to a soft consistency in the middle and a crunchy consistency on the edges.

I ate the whole thing in one sitting. Was that greedy of me? If so, I couldn’t help myself.  This is by far my new favorite of the frozen pizza brands and I will be stocking up on the Pepperoni & Pesto flavor in particular. It was good to the last bite!  I do want to try the Trio Bacon and Mozzarella & Pesto flavors as well.

In the Mood for a Non-Dairy Yogurt?
Silk Dairy Free Strawberry Yogurt Alternative
I think that the Silk Dairy-Free Strawberry Yogurt Alternative is a surprisingly delicious treat.  I was skeptical about the taste of a soy based yogurt product, but now I am so thankful that I took the risk.   This is delicious! it has a creamy, pudding like texture and is bursting with strawberry flavor in every bite.  This combination keeps you craving and anticipating the next bite!  I was also surprised at how it filled me up.  Many yogurts don't fill me up but actually are a nice snack or treat that I use to hold me until I have a real meal.  After my first try, this one filled me up enough, that I have been having one daily for lunch topped with granola as my  light summer lunch option.  I am noticing that these are popular at my local Stop and Shop supermarket, and certain flavors tend to disappear fast.  I am still on the hunt for the vanilla and Tropical Pineapple flavors for example, but I know from experience that it will be well worth the wait. Silk soy yogurts are now a permanent part of my grocery list.
